Creating Effective Direct Mail Advertising

Direct mail advertising is a common approach for getting your company into the minds of prospective customers, as you can get your ad into their home along with their mail, but while some companies find that direct mail advertising is hugely effective, there are many more companies that seem to get little to no results from these advertising campaigns. Creating direct mail advertising that does its job - bringing new customers your way – is not difficult, but before you launch such a campaign, there are three specific things you will want to make sure you are keeping in mind.

The importance of the area in which you are choosing to advertise is the first thing for you to keep in mind; realize that word of mouth is the most effective manner of advertising in existence, so the main area where you should focus your direct mail advertising is those houses that are in the immediate vicinity of your location, and once you get these people into your store, they will be able to help spread the word on their own!

The second thing you need to recognize is that you are not going to be the only company trying to reach people through direct mail advertising, and you will need to create ads that stand out from all the other ads if you want to keep people from throwing them away.

And the third thing that will be important for you to keep in mind is the fact that advertising is much more effective when it creates a call to action; by advertising a promotion, or by sending out coupons or notifications of special deals, you will be much more likely to draw new people your way!

Each new customer that comes into your store is a chance for you to create a customer who is satisfied, and every satisfied customer is one more person who will help to spread the good word about your company, helping you to continue growing more and more!

How To Start A Successful Snow Cone Business

Now that it is summertime, you are probably driving by plenty of snow cone businesses – and if you are a savvy businessperson, you have probably noticed that some of these places are consistently swarming with people, and have probably at least considered starting one such business of your own. Before you actually jump in and start up a snow cone business, however, it is also important for you to recognize and acknowledge the fact that for every incessantly busy snow cone place you see, you also drive by at least one other snow cone place that has no customers at all – which, of course, brings up the pure and simple truth that there are some core secrets to starting a successful snow cone business.

Location will be one of the biggest factors – but your snow cone place cannot just be in a place where a lot of people will see it; your snow cone place will also have to be in a place where people can easily turn into it, park, and head back out, all without any inconvenience!

Once you have picked a location (the parking lot of a shopping plaza is always a great place to think about), you should also realize that you will need to make “good snow cones”; as any high schooler can tell you, “good snow cones” mean a huge number of flavors for them to choose from, and a whole lot of flavoring on every snow cone!

And of course, brand loyalty and recognition will be hugely important, and since high school students are the ones most likely to visit your snow cone stand, you should market aggressively at their schools, stirring up the idea that your snow cone place is not only a good place for a snow cone, but is also a cool hangout spot!

You should have no problem gaining a loyal following of high school customers once you follow these steps - and of course, this means that you should have no problem creating lines at your snow cone place, which will continue to bring in more and more customers!

Managing Upset Customers

When you run a business, one of the keys to reaching success will be making sure that you know how to manage customers who are upset, or who have a complaint about the way they have been handled by you, your employees, or your company. When an upset customer has a legitimate complaint, they can ruin a lot of business for you if they share their complaints with others, but when you are able to fix a situation with an upset customer, they will often be so impressed with the way you handled things that they will end up sending more customers your way!

The first thing you need to do – regardless of whether you feel their complaint is legitimate or not – is to acknowledge the problem; when you acknowledge that their complaint and convey that you understand the complaint, you will be on the right path to making the situation better.

@@ADSENSE@@.

The next step is working to resolve the problem – but the mistake that many people make when trying to resolve a problem with a customer is that they allow the customer to dictate the terms of the resolution. It is a delicate balance to be helpful while still keeping the power in your hands, but this is an importance balance to maintain – otherwise, you may end up with a customer who is not satisfied no matter what you do.

And lastly, recognize the fact that there actually will be customers who you will never be able to satisfy; these are the customers who tend to complain with every company they deal with, and the best way to deal with such customers is to do the best you can and then send them on their way!

It can sometimes be difficult to manage customers who are upset, but it is one of the most important aspects of keeping your business in good shape – and when you can start to do this effectively, you will maximize the positive news that customers spread about your company.

How To Deal With Criticism At Work

It can often seem like your job is your “life” with the amount of time and energy you put into it – no matter how much effort you might put into trying to convince yourself otherwise – and because of this tendency for people to feel this way about their jobs, it can be a tough pill to swallow when they encounter what they feel is unwarranted criticism or negative feedback about their work. While dealing with criticism in an area into which you invest so much of your own time and energy can be difficult, it is also quite possible to deal with this criticism in an appropriate manner, as long as you take the proper approach.

@@ADSENSE@@.

You need to accept criticism when it comes, and this is the first thing you need to realize about handling criticism in the workplace; if your boss is giving you criticism at work, it is likely because they see something that they feel you should fix, and arguing with them is not going to make the situation any better!

Find a place where you can be alone for a little while after you have accepted the criticism; in this “alone place,” think about the criticism you were given, and establish whether there is anything you can take away from the things that were said. You should take this time to acknowledge the things in your job that you do well, but you should also see what truth and means for learning you can take from the things that were said to you.

Finally, the most important part of dealing with criticism at work is reminding yourself that – no matter how much time you spend at your job – this is not your life, and it is not the most important thing in your life! By coming to this realization, it will become much easier for you to learn from criticism given to you at work, without getting weighed down by the negative aspects of the criticism in question.

Tips For Making A Good First Impression In A Job Interview

With the way in which today’s job market is so competitive, it is important that you know how to get every edge you possibly can in trying to win a job, and one of the best ways to gain an edge in winning a job is to make a good first impression! A good first impression can be the difference between you and “the other applicants” being seriously considered for a job, and a bad first impression can be the difference between you being a serious contender for a job and becoming a quick, “Thanks for applying, but we are going to go with someone else.”

Be on time: Most people realize that they should be “on time” for an interview, but they fail to realize that “on time” really means being there a minimum of thirty minutes early; this will impress anyone who is watching, and it will give you a further leg up if someone else is late.

@@CBTEXT;INTERVIEW;The Ultimate Guide To Job Interview Answers@@!

Practice your handshake: Before you go to the interview, take some time to practice your handshake with a friend or a family member; your handshake will be your first introduction, and you will need to make sure that it is firm (but not too firm!) and tight, conveying confidence and control.

Be aware of eye contact: Even though we all know that eye contact is important, many of us go to a job interview and completely neglect to hold eye contact during our meeting; first remind yourself that it is important to keep eye contact, and then remember to keep eye contact!

Keep an eye on your posture: If you are in a particularly long interview, it can be easy for you to start out with great posture and to eventually start losing this as the interview goes on; remember that your body language will speak as loudly as your words, so practice keeping good posture for long periods of time!

By keeping all of these points in mind, you will not necessarily guarantee that you will get hired for that job that you covet, but you will certainly set yourself apart from the others who have applied, and you will certainly increase your chances of success!

How To Stay Visible Online

One of the most important elements that will contribute to the success or failure of your business will be your success or failure in staying visible online. After all, more and more people are spending more and more of their time online, and if you are not “where the people are,” you will fail to remain in their minds - and it will, of course, be difficult to be relevant to your customers if you are not managing to stay in their minds.

The most important thing to realize about staying visible to your customers online is that you need to be consistent in your online activity; this means that you need to update your website regularly, and you need to engage your readers in conversation through such tools as Twitter and a company blog.

A lot of companies make the mistake of only Tweeting and providing content that relates to the business, but the last thing your customers want to do is hear about your business all the time; instead, you should engage them in other topics that are of interest to them, as this will create the sense that your company, as an entity, is their “friend,” instead of being just a company.

@@CBTEXT;GEOCLICKBA;Internet Marketing Software@@

A great idea is to post weekly polls on your website that only vaguely have anything to do with your company (or that have nothing to do with your company at all!), as people will enjoy visiting your site each week to vote on the poll.

Injecting humor into the places your customers are regularly visiting - your blog, your website, your Twitter, or your facebook page – is another great idea, as this will keep a semblance of levity in your business dealings.

Once you get into the habit of “staying visible online,” you will find that you are able to accomplish this in only a few hours of work each week – and by taking these few hours every week, you will create a huge uptick in online visibility (and as a result, in profits!).

Being Successful By Looking For Business Opportunities

If your goal is to find success in business, there are a lot of different things you can do, but one of the most important things for you to do if you want to be successful in business on your own is to get into the habit of always keeping your eyes open for opportunities. Once you begin to get into the habit of keeping your eyes open for opportunities, you will be shocked by just how prevalent opportunities to make money are; once you follow these three tips, you will be better equipped to look for opportunities in everyday life.

@@CBTEXT;50WISE3;Entrepreneurs Thriving In Uncertain Times@@!

Read: Reading is vital if you want to change your mindset toward the world around you, as it gives you an opportunity to learn from great minds that came before you. When you take the time to learn from books written by great businessmen and entrepreneurs, you will gain a better perspective on exactly what it is they do (and have done) that makes them successful, and you will be able to pattern your behavior and actions off these same behaviors and actions.

@@AMAZONWIDGET;entrepreneurs;1000@@.

Practice: The best way to ‘look for business opportunities’ is to practice looking for business opportunities; the way you practice looking for business opportunities is by envisioning the kinds of opportunities you would like to end up finding and making for yourself. When you do this, you begin to get yourself into the habit of finding business opportunities where other people see nothing – and the more you get into this habit, the more it will begin to become a regular part of your everyday life.

Do: And finally, if you want to become successful at finding business opportunities where others see nothing, you need to get out there and start trying to take advantage of the opportunities you see; even though there will be plenty of times (especially early on!) when your efforts are in vain – or when they lead you to failure - you will find that success comes more and more frequently as you “do” more and more!

Relax! A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Prospects

Featured

Social media has changed Internet marketing forever! Today I want to take a few minutes to talk about profile pictures. Last week I had a quick conversation with one of my downline business partners about Facebook Marketing. She had spent about 2 hours trying to decide what picture to use for her profile image and called me for some advice. Now, first of all, spending 2 hours on a profile pictures is a great way to waste your time and keep you from actually growing your business (but we can talk about busy work later). It is always interesting to me to see how people choose to represent themselves. So I wanted to share 5 quick tips to remember when picking a profile picture.

1. Relax! and be yourself. Look at the picture of our friend on the left. He’s clean, professional and laser focused. The only problem with this picture is that we are marketing a HOME BASED business! I don’t know about you, but when I market from home, my patio or sitting on my couch … I really don’t plan on wearing a suit and tie, as I’m sure most of us would not! So be REAL. Wear what you normally wear. Be clean, wrinkle free, and decent. You want people to know who they are really working with. Don’t dress up, don’t dress down, be you.

2. SMILE :) Smile in your pictures, have fun, enjoy who you are and LOVE WHAT YOU DO. Let’s look back at our friend’s picture again (above, left). If I had to take a guess, I would probably say he’s struggling in network marketing, just missed a few credit card payments and took this picture at 6:30am, right before he left to work. That’s not the guy I really want to lead me to success. No one wants to ride in the car with flat tires, so SMILE … regardless of how many teeth you have!

3.  Use YOUR picture, No Icons. Your picture should be of you. I don’t know how many people really want to work with the “snarling bulldog” guy or with the “Cute baby picture” woman. Show people who you are, this helps to build confidence with your potential business partners. If you use an icon or picture image many people will feel that you are hiding behind your computer. People want to work with and follow people, not cool images.

4. NEVER post your MLM Logo. Using your logo next to or in place of your picture is a great way to come off like a salesperson and drive away tons of potential valuable relationships. If you want to have a job for the rest of your life … do this. For the rest of us who are serious about networking with others re-read tip #3.

5. Keep the picture “up-to-date”. Any picture you use should be within the last few years or should “reasonably” represent you. Don’t use a 1980′s magazine cover shot or you college photo if you are class of 1989. Keep your picture current and honest.

These guidelines are not rocket science, just simple basic rules to follow. Remember: First impressions are everything and in our world, a picture can be worth a thousand prospects!
