Simple and Effective PPC Keyword Strategy

Quick question; if you had a choice of sponsoring two kinds of people in to your network marketing business, which of these options would you choose: Burger Flippers from McDonalds or Insurance Agents? If you chose Burger Flippers from McDonalds, then you are on the right path! The right path to MLM bankruptcy! A Burger Flipper has nothing in common with network marketers; whereas the Insurance Agent is a perfect match! The Insurance Agent uses daily communication skills, has an obvious drive to own a business and works on commission. Like I said a perfect match! An Insurance Agent is a sophisticated prospect and that is our goal, to find targeted sophisticated prospects. If you are reading this, then you are probably a sophisticated prospect.  You want to attract people like you… especially if you are paying for it!

Pay Per Click (PPC) traffic is one of the most effective and fastest ways to build any business. However, it is also one of the most intimidating traffic sources. So, I’m going to break down this complex monster by providing you with some effective and simple guidelines. PPC traffic is all about 3 things: your keywords, your bidding price and your advertisement. Today were going to focus on keywords. Please note that some of this may be a little much for the beginning marketer to understand but try to bear with me.

1 Keywords Not To Use: Never use keywords like “MLM”, “Network Marketing”, “Get Rich Quick”, and “Home Based Business”. These are very popular keywords and for that reason, most people think these are the obvious and best keywords to use. Although these are popular keywords, they are terms that are used by unsophisticated marketers. The main reason you do not want to use these keywords is simple, they are expensive and usually do not attract a high quality lead you are looking to recruit. When you are paying for leads you only want to attract high quality serious prospects, not people who are researching MLM or “thinking” about network marketing.  These keywords are what the amateurs play with.

2. Sophisticated Keywords: Use keywords that attract in depth research or interest. For example: If you are looking for people who are interested in joining the JuiceX MLM company (fake name), then it would probably be a good idea to use keywords like the CEO’s name, the specific ingredients that are in the  product, unique benefits of the product or some of JuiceX’s top money earner names. Think about this, if someone is actively searching for the specific name of the JuiceX CEO or top money earner, then they probably have a sincere interested in the business or product; that’s a good prospect.

3. Places to Find Keywords: Use book titles, magazine titles and interests that are reflected by the books you own. Guru names, top internet marketers, marketing systems, marketing or MLM courses, websites or popular URLs and company names. These are just a few suggestions out of an endless possible list of quality keywords.

4. Negative Keywords: When starting a campaign you also want to use negative keywords. These are keywords that you do not want Google or Yahoo to use for your ad. Good words to block out are “-scam”, “-free”, “-no charge”, etc… People who use these keywords are often looking for a free handout and not really willing to invest in a business. These words also attract people who are looking for information, not an opportunity.
