Experience Is Overrated! Right?

Featured

True story: Many moons ago when I was in grade school I attended one of my cousin’s birthday parties. When your kid a birthday party is like payday! Getting a piece of cake was like affiliate checks in the mail! I don’t remember all the details of the party but I do remember how the party ended.

It was about 4 o’clock and everyone had their fill of some great barbecue and was getting ready to leave. Before anyone actually made it to the door someone pulled out a piñata full of candy. The kids went nuts! (Myself included). All the adults lined the kids up for each of us to have a chance to crack open the piñata, with a blindfold and a wooden bat while someone was swinging the piñata from a tree. A few kids took their swings with no luck. My cousin (the birthday boy) was standing in front of me and was up to bat. I waited with anticipation for my turn. He took two swings and BOOM! The safe was cracked! A few pieces of gold fell out of the pinata and on to the grass. At that very second I lost complete control of my body and my animal instincts took over. At a split second my legs immediately began to sprint toward the gems on the grass waiting to be claimed. I was the only kid within a foot of the candy. Actually, all the other kids were still waiting around in a circle watching me. Well, what I didn’t realize was that everyone knew I had ran for the candy, except for my cousin, who was still swinging for the fences blindfolded. Before I could even think about stopping WHAM! I took a vicious grand slam to my stomach… and all I could here was the crowd say “ooohhhh”. The game was over.

This really has nothing to do with marketing or building a business, except to say that experiences can be painful. However, what is even more painful is not learning from experiences. I guarantee you from that day forward before I ever ran for another piece of candy I was 100% sure that the batter was “aware” that kids were going in for the kill… not to be killed! It’s so simple to learn from other people’s mistakes, but why don’t we? I really don’t know the deep psychological answer behind this question, but I do know that the people who learn from other people’s mistakes are light-years ahead of the rest. There is a great quote in the book “The Greatest Secret In The World” by Og Mandino that says “In truth experience teaches thoroughly but her course of instruction devours men’s years so the value of her lessons diminish with the time necessary to acquire her special wisdom”. In my opinion, experience is somewhat overrated, wisdom is not. I hope you find some value in this post and I strongly urge you to shorten your internet marketing or network marketing experience “curve” by surrounding yourself with wisdom at MyLeadSystemPro.

The Lion Of Marketing Phrases!

Featured

The following four words are some of the most powerful words in marketing that you could ever use: “It’s not your fault”. Read that again, “It’s not your fault”. There are few marketing statements more powerful than this. These words have the ability to command attention, open minds and reveal emotions.

Have you ever stopped to think about your habits, ideas, perspectives and feelings? Many of our daily actions and thoughts are not present by our own choice. They are the result of conditioning that we have experienced throughout our lives. Let me give you an example. As children many of us were told to ”just be happy with what you have”. What does this communicate? If you grew up always being taught to “just be happy with what you have”, would you expect that child to strive for great success in business as an adult or just be happy they have a job. I have a friend who was always forced to “finish his plate” at every meal. If he grew up with a habit of consistently eating everything on his plate, regardless if he was hungry or not, would it be really be his complete fault if he was overweight as an adult? What about children that grow up with a daily routine of watching television all day vs. children who actively participate in sports throughout their childhood? Are the habits they grow up with their fault? Are people with bad habits completely guilty of “not taking responsibility” for their actions? What about a failed and desperate network marketer who has been struggling for years? Is their failure really their fault?

A very powerful conversation takes place when you can say “Mike, I understand why you feel the way you do about network marketing and I don’t blame you, but I want you to know something… it’s not your fault”. Think about this. Who has really lead Mike? Has he ever surrounded himself with successful people? Does Mike even understand networking? Marketing? How to build relationships? Does he understand the concept of leverage or the importance of mindset? Or was he just handed a starter kit and told to “grow a business”. Is his failure really his fault? I don’t care how determined you are, if you’re headed in the wrong direction you will only reach your dead end destination quicker than others.

Please note that I am not suggesting lying or being insincere. Maintaining your integrity is a critical factor in business. What I am suggesting is that you learn this concept and approach people with a sincere desire to understand where they are. This will give you a new perspective of your prospects that you may have never given thought to before. If you can really understand this concept it will change your marketing perspective forever.

Wile E. Coyote’s Traffic Strategy

Featured

I only take advice from Super Genius Strategists and I think very few live up to the reputation of Wile E. Coyote! He is all about devising innovated strategies to capture traffic. He is persistent, relentless and a determined, all excellent qualities for an internet marketer to have. His only fault is that he is too complicated. There are a lot of lessons that we can learn from Wile E. Coyote but simplicity is not one of them. He is missing the K.I.S.S. factor (Keep It Simple Stupid). Creating effective capture pages involve more strategies than I can cover in a blog post but here are 3 basic elements of an effective capture page.

1. Congruency – Not Mr. Coyote’s specialty but a critically important factor. You must have congruency between your capture page and your traffic source. Example, if you post a Google Ad or a Solo Ad that says “Make Money in 30 Days” the headline on your capture page should also be “Make Money in 30 Days”. This does two things for your prospect. First, it lets them know they are in the right place. Second, it delivers on the promise made in your advertisement. If you do not have congruency you will lose opt-ins! Mark Hoverson has some great lessons on congruency.

2. Keep It Simple! – Wile’s concept is simple, catch the bird and have a meal. At a moment’s notice he has a napkin, fork and knife readily available. Your prospects are not very different. They come with their name and email address readily availble and they are more than willing to share it. Once a prospect has click on your advertisement or link that redirects them to your capture page they have already made a psychological commitment to obtain your ads promised information. Once someone has visited your site, deliver the promised goods with as little distractions as possible. DO NOT clutter your capture page with paragraphs of additional information that are irrelevant to the promise. DO NOT distract your traffic with advertisements and banners. Keep them focused and keep it simple. If your prospect wants a cookie then give them a cookie, not the recipe!

3. Test Everything! – If the Super Genius would bother to test a few of his strategies he might actually have a chance at a decent meal. Just as the vast majority of internet marketers, he doesn’t. He is so focused on the goal he neglects the path. Test the path your prospects are walking. Test your headlines, fonts, colors, opt-in buttons, your copy, video’s, the call to action and arrows, test everything! The smallest change of an arrow on a capture page or the color of a button could skyrocket your conversion rates. Don’t think like a coyote, think like the bird your are chasing.

Is Your Marketing Strategy This Simple?

Give Me A Solid Traffic Source! What Is It?

Featured

One of the most popular the questions I get from people who are just starting to market their business online is “what is the best traffic source?” The obvious answer to that question is “the one that works!” right? All traffic sources are not created equal and each traffic source requires a different skill set to drive and grow. So, for those of you who are still searching for the Holy Grail, here’s a quick road map of the four the most popular traffic sources.

1. Article Marketing – One of my personal favorites; however article marketing is not instant business builder. Article marketing is the “snowball” of traffic. This is a long term marketing strategy, so allow at least 4-9 months before you see any noticeable results. Provided your content is valuable and desirable, you can generate an unstoppable avalanche of long term leads. One of the unique advantages of article marketing is that your content will remain online for years! The effort that you devote to create one article can result in hundreds or thousands of leads over time. This can be done for FREE, but effective tools should be used to get the most out of this source.

2. Pay Per Click – PPC is the King of Traffic, in my opinion. This is the quick fix for instant gratification addict! PPC is like minute rice for the hungry internet marketer. PPC does a few great things. 1) It provides instant results, often within minutes of placing a Google, Yahoo! or Bing.com advertisement. One of the most important factors when you sponsor someone is to get them paid fast! This helps to avoid any self doubt, disbelief and helps to build their confidence. Many new internet marketers will cross roads of discouragement and self doubt as they learn how to drive traffic. PPC will give them the double shot of confidence that they need to “stay awake” and in the game while they develop their ability to drive other traffic source methods. 3) Even if you suck… it still works! (at an additional cost)

3. Social Media Marketing – Let’s get one thing clear, nothing is really FREE. Everything comes at a cost, if it’s not money, it’s time. Period. Social Media is all about connecting with your prospects on a personal level. This is best suited for people who are more social and creative than analytical and logical. Social media is heavily influenced by visual and emotional marketing tactics. Your main objective is to create a presence, leverage attraction marketing and monetize. If you’re a texter, chatter or even a blogger, this can be a great method to leverage your personal strengths but be careful NOT to fall into the trap of becoming a Social Media Zombie! You are a mission to build a business, not become part of the Social Media frenzy!

4. Video Marketing – Probably the most powerful method of marketing. 1) Video marketing is not just about getting exposed; you have to do it right for it to work. 2) You don’t HAVE TO show your face. If you’re camera shy or just don’t want to have videos of yourself floating on the internet sea, you can still use very effectively video marketing strategies that do not require you to be the “on screen star”. 3) Video marketing is not free but it can be done at a very low cost. Everyone should use video marketing. Video can be diverse and effective, regardless of the skill set you possess; however, this can also be time consuming.

These are only 4 of the countless methods used to generate traffic. Keep in mind that any traffic source that is not implemented correctly will still end in poor results. The best traffic generation tool is your education! 5 Efficient Marketing Tools That Don’t Suck!

Featured

Internet marketing without the proper tools is like swimming with your shoes on! Yeah, you can do it but it will be so much harder than it has to be! Just as so many marketers before me, I have spent some serious money trying to find my way to the path of efficient marketing. So, today I want to save you a few bucks and tell you about a few programs and marketing tools that DO NOT SUCK. Actually, most of these are requirements if you want to save time and increase your revenue. Internet marketing is all about leveraging your time and resources to get 1000 hours of work done in less than an hour. So here we go: (ignore my cheesy analogies, they are for my own entertainment!)

1. Aweber – I would really be surprised if anyone reading this post is not familiar with Aweber, but if you’re not, get it. Aweber is one of the most reliable autoresponder systems available. A marketer without an autoresponder is like sending a message via pigeon express!

2. MLSP – My Lead System Pro is an awesome resource for training and setting up an affiliate funnel for 18 multiple streams of income. MLSP turns you into a person of value! This is critical in attraction marketing. You can attract more bees with honey as you can attract more prospects with value. If you are trying to build a business without high quality team and an affiliate marketing funnel then you are fishing without bait!

3. Bookmarking Demon – This is by far the best bookmarking software I have come across. This is basically a program that creates massive links, trackbacks and pingbacks for your articles, blog posts and webpages. Bookmarking Demon will create up to 5 profiles for you, automatically post to over 100+ bookmarking and social media sites, camouflage your postings to avoid you getting banned, autocrawl RSS feeds and much more, all at the click of one button. I LOVE THIS!

4. Traffic Geyser – If you are using video marketing and you are not using Traffic Geyser you are wasting your time. This simple program will turn one video and turn it into 100+, giving you massive exposure and best of all LINKS! Check it out … they usually offer a $1 trial for the first 3 weeks.

5. MLM Launch Formula (by Mark Hoverson & Jonathan Budd) – Although this program temporarily unavailable, it will change your business completely. This is the exact system that Jonathan Budd used to sponsor 90+ reps into his business in 3 days! The MLM Launch formula takes long term strategies and strategically condenses them into a powerful one or two week time frame. This is designed to generate massive interest and quality responses to your business, products or services. Every top internet marketer uses this strategy…. more to come.

6. Traffic Formula 2.0 – By far, one of the most effective courses I have ever purchased to grow my business. Mike Dillard’s Traffic Formula 2.0 is a contemporary revision of the original Traffic Formula program. This course will show you how to generate a massive amount of leads from virtually every traffic source available online. Additionally, it will show you how to convert that traffic and MONETIZE BABY! I saved the best for last!
